Website Analytics
When someone visits this website, we use a third party servic, Squarespace Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Our bulletin list
When you sign up to our free email bulletin via our website, you give us your name and email address and a few details about your school and your role. You are then asked to “Double Opt-In” by clicking a link in an immediate email. We make it very clear in the email what you will be receiving.
We use your email address to send you metacognition resources, as requested, and your name to personalise the email’s greeting. We sometimes use information about your location, from either your IP address or the country code from your email address, to send you information that is relevant to you but not to all subscribers.
We use a third-party provider, Mailchimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter.
We do not and would never share your information with a third party so that they could contact you. We sometimes include in our bulletin information about events, books etc. from other organisations that we think will be of interest to our readership, but we do not share your information with any of them.
You can unsubscribe to general mailings any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer Jason Buckley at jason@thephilosophyman.com
